Rural and Migrant Ministry
Youth Empowerment Intern

The Youth Arts Group is looking for interns to work with them as they develop their leadership skills for social justice.  The Youth Arts Group (YAG) is a group of twenty high school students from around the mid-Hudson that uses the arts to bring about systemic change in the issues of their lives.  In recent years they have focused on such issues as:

  • Racism in the schools
  • farmworker justice
  • immigration issues

The group has received national attention. and travels from time to time to NYC, western NY, Philadelphia and Washington D.C.

This highly rewarding, but very demanding position requires the following:

  • Available on Friday afternoons/nights (3:00 - 10:00) (You can be back in time for the late night activities at Vassar + one other afternoon or evening each week\
  • driver's license (lots of driving)
  • passion to be an ally for justice
  • This is a full credit/eight hour position

Public Relations/Development Intern(s)

Rural and Migrant Ministry is a non-profit organization committed to rural justice in New York.

RMM is looking for someone to help with the development of the organization.  Here is a good opportunity to learn about the structure of a non-profit organization, especially public relations and development.  Specifically the position will offer the opportunity to work on special projects taking place this Fall.

Rural Women's Conference Intern(s)

Rural and Migrant Ministry is a non-profit organization committed to rural justice in New York.
  
RMM is looking for someone to help with the development of a rural women's conference to take place this December in Binghamton NY. Specifically the position will offer the opportunity to work on helping to develop and implement the conference.

Justice For All Speakers Forum Intern

The Justice For All Speakers Forum is a critical vehicle for bringing national and regional speakers once a month to the Hudson Valley. Speakers focus on issues of justice and how the faith community can organize around those issues. Past Speakers have included: Martin Marty, Daniel Berrigan and Chung Wha Hong. The Forum is staffed by Rural and Migrant Ministry(RMM). RMM is a non-profit organization committed to rural justice in New York.
  
We are looking for someone to help ensure the success of the Forum. Interns will work on publicity, special events, logistics and help staff a diverse, ecumenical  steering committee.
 
The position requires the following:

  • Available the third Sunday of each month in the afternoon
  • availability during a weekday
  • passion to be an ally for justice
  • a detail person
