NEWS

There is a lot happening this Fall at RMM, it will be even more exciting if you can join us

  • Acclaimed Actor Sam Waterston to Host Sowing Seed For Justice Dinner. Join us on October 18th at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church on 88th St in NYC for the annual Justice For Farmworkers Harvest Supper. The Supper will honor Librada Paz, The Rev. Noelle D'Amico and the law firm Myer, Suozzi, English and Klein. The featured speaker is Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, sponsor of legislation to remove all exclusions facing farmworkers in New York. TO ORDER A TABLE or TICKETS, please call Susan Agoglia at 212-319-2027. A key part of the Supper will be a great silent auction. Boy do we have some nifty items! If you would like to see them (or make a bid) visit our web-site.
  • Prominent Church leader, John Fife, to speak at Harvesting Justice Conference on November 8, 2007. The Rev. John Fife has served as a pastor for more than 35 years and is a national leader in his denomination. He was one of many Americans outraged at U.S. foreign policy toward Latin America during the 1980s. He and his congregationjoined a network of churches and people who provided safe haven to Latin American refugees fleeing the death squads of El Salvador and Guatemala.  He was tried and convicted for offering hospitality and protection to the refugees. Today, he continues to be a voice and a witness for those who die each year trying to become part of the United States.
  • We are sorry to see Sandy Cuellar Oxford leave RMM. Sandy has accepted a position with the Food and Commercial Worker's Union. We know that she will be a marvelous and effective presence with the Union, and we wish her well.
  • We are honored and blessed to welcome the Rev. Maria Marta Aris-Paul to the staff. Maria Marta will serve as one of our Educators on a part time basis. Maria Marta brings extensive experience to RMM including: Director of the Instituto Pastoral, Greenfire and Union Seminary Maria Marta has also served in several congregations.

Please help us get the word out about the needs of RMM !
Someone told us that we are not doing a good job in getting "our story" out! We need volunteer journalists and p.r. folk to help us share our stories.

Bored at home? Want to be around some very exciting people and make a difference in the world? Volunteer a day or two at RMM's offices

We sure could use some volunteers to also help us for a couple of months putting together the Harvesting Justice Conference in western New York and the state-wide Rural Women's Conference.

Give Janaira a call in the office - if you are able to join us!   845-485-8627
