Rural & Migrant Ministry has a long history of training young leaders in high school, college and seminary/graduate school. This extensive Internship Program is a part of our commitment to nurturing leaders.

During the school year RMM welcomes students from such colleges & universities as Vassar, Marist, Cornell, SUNY New Paltz and SUNY Brockport as they engage in semester internships with our different programs. Our summer program relies heavily upon summer interns; we have welcomed students from across the United States and even Great Britain and Guatemala. RMM is especially pleased to work with seminarians from many different faith backgrounds. The Summer Internships are available from June 1st through the end of August and may offer a small stipend. They have the following requirements:

  • A commitment to justice
  • Driver's license
  • A willingness to work irregular hours

Another aspect of our Internship Program is a unique summer training program for high school students in the Youth Arts Group, ensuring that the skills learned in the year-long program can be further developed through work with younger children in both our day and overnight summer camps. YAG Interns also work on other projects such as developing conferences, putting together films about youth empowerment and advocacy, and organizing social actions. Through this internship, participants gain leadership skills and serve as role models to younger participants in the Youth Empowerment Program.

We also offer internships on a limited basis for committed high school students who are not a part of our Youth Empowerment Program. To find out more, give us a call.

From time to time RMM works with graduate and post-college students through some limited Fellowships. Feel free to give us a call if you are interested in finding out more. (Usually Fellows arrive through an existing Fellowship program)

Internships and Fellowships are available in:

  • Hudson Valley
  • Catskills
  • Lake Ontario
