Preface to RMM’s 2025 Menu of Hope
Anti-immigrant events and actions have been occurring so quickly since January 20, 2025, that Rural & Migrant Ministry is providing an updated resource for Congregations, Unions and other communities supporting immigrants in our neighborhoods and communities.
Information and action steps are developing equally quickly; therefore, this document will be published online as key sections become available. This resource will be updated with new information in response to disinformation.
Rural & Migrant Ministry works for the creation of a just, rural New York State through nurturing leadership, changing unjust systems and structures, and standing with the disenfranchised, especially farmworkers and rural workers. For more than 40 years, RMM has worked with partner churches, unions and community organizations to fight for farmworker rights and conditions in the Hudson Valley (vineyards and orchards), Western New York (vineyards and orchards) and Long Island (vegetable fields, poultry farms and vineyards).
This resource is provided to give RMM’s partner organizations background material, resources to support at-risk neighbors and to advocate in larger arenas for human rights that all persons deserve.
