A Special Invitation to Our Women Allies

The 20th Annual Rural Women’s Assembly will take place in the Catskills, Dec. 12-14 th ,
and we are seeking volunteers to drive participants to and from this important event. If
you are available to drive a few participants or, even better, if you would like to also
participate in the RWA yourself, please let us know!

Your participation helps to ensure our women feel safe and supported while
attending the RWA.
The increase in ICE arrests and racial profiling by law enforcement
this year has created an atmosphere of fear and anxiety amongst the communities we
serve. Now, more than ever, the chance for our women to come together to learn from,
inspire, and support one another, is so important. At the same time, many members of
our community are anxious about attending large in-person gatherings. Having allies
drive and be present at the conference is one of the ways in which RMM is working to
ensure that our women are safe and can enjoy participating in the assembly as much as
possible.

The RWA is a chance for you to learn, be inspired, and build connections. If you
have never been to the RWA before, you are in for a treat. You can read about the
offerings on the RWA flier. In addition, this year, RMM will host several workshops and
small group discussions geared toward allies. Strengthening our network of allies
across the state is one of the most important ways in which we can respond to the
current political and social forces bearing down on our communities. At the RWA,
women allies will connect with others who are committed to working together for justice,
and we will collectively explore strategies for protecting our communities and bringing
about social change. Join us as we think creatively about the ways in which we can best
support rural migrant women and work toward a more just and safer rural New York.

And finally, did we mention the RWA is held at a resort?! There is a pool and a hot tub,
and it is our hope that you will leave the RWA feeling not only inspired and empowered,
but also relaxed and refreshed!

If you would like to attend the RWA, please register by November 1 st at:
