Jim Monnier is recently retired after a 45 year career in Higher Education Administration, Corporate Training and Development, and Fundraising. He has been a VP for Training and Organization Development at major investment banks, Associate VP for Institutional Advancement at St. John’s University in Queens, and most recently a Senior Development Officer at Habitat for Humanity.

Kathy Mendall, Board Member

Kathy Mendall is the Event Manager at Cornell Tech. She has been a Vestry Member, Choir Member, and Co-editor of the quarterly church newsletter Trinity Bells at Trinity Episcopal Church, Roslyn, NY, and has also been Coordinator for the YPF group, Rector Search Committee Member, Centennial Committee Member and a member of the Hospitality Committee.

Jessica Garcia, Board Vice-President

Jessica García is Assistant to the President of the Retail, Wholesale Department Store Union (RWDSU), UFCW, a national labor union representing workers along the food supply chain, as well as workers in non-food retail and healthcare. She previously served as Deputy Political Director for the RWDSU, where she worked to advance the union’s legislative and political agendas. Prior, she served as Director of Programs and Organizing at New Immigrant Community Empowerment and spent her early career advocating for fair funding for public schools in New York City.

Clayton Eichelberger, Board Member

Clayton Eichelberger serves as Associate Counsel for the New York State Teachers Union and is also a Professor at the University of Albany (SUNY) African American Studies. He has served as Associate Counsel in the New York State Senate and was the Legal and Administrative Counsel for the NYS Catholic Conference. Clayton received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Hampton University (M.C.L.) and his Juris Doctorate from Mercer University.

Phillippe Abraham, Board Member

J. Philippe Abraham is Secretary-Teasurer of New York State United Teachers, overseeing NYSUT’s social justice efforts.
Elected to NYSUT’s leadership ranks as first Vice-President in April 2017, Abraham is NYSUT’s first higher education member to serve as a statewide officer. He came to NYSUT after serving as the elected statewide V.P. for professionals of United University Professions, NYSUT’s largest higher education affiliate representing faculty and staff at the State University of New York.

Max Bruny, Board Member

Max Bruny joined the UFCW International Professional and Insurance Division in 1986. He was promoted to General Organizer for Region 1 in 1987. Then in 1988, Max was invited to join the staff of UFCW Local 888 as a Union Representative. He also served as Recording Secretary, Director of Organizing, Vice President of the Local 888 Credit Union, Trustee of the Local 888 Health & Welfare Fund, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 888 and Chairman of the Local 888 Health and Pension Funds on January 1, 2002.

Marshall Paris, Board Member

Marshall Paris is Organizing Director for UFCW888, helping workers secure union representation at their work site by informing them about their rights, identifying and developing leadership skills among workers, explaining the union organizing process and helping the workers campaign for union recognition. Marshall earned his Bachelor of Business Administration at State University of NY, Old Westbury and his Bachelor of Arts in Labor and Industrial Relations at City University of NY, School of Professional Studies.

Lynne Martines, Board Member

Entrepreneur | Mentor | Activist Lynne knows that nurturing leadership is about being present with the people we influence. Lynne graduated from RMM's Youth Arts Group, having attended the Overnight Leadership Camp as a camper and returning as a counselor. She received her BBA at Monroe College. After a successful 10 years of management and logistics experience, Lynne walked away from the corporate world to follow her dream of starting her own business. Today she helps disadvantaged parents navigate their path to success.

The Rev. Katherine Pater, Board Member

Rev. Katherine Pater serves as Associate Pastor of Mission, Outreach, and Church Families at Hitchcock Presbyterian Church in Scarsdale, NY. She holds a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin with a double major in Political Science and Religious Studies. After receiving her Masters of Divinity from Harvard Divinity School, she was ordained to serve a small ecumenical mission in rural El Salvador. Upon returning to the United States, she studied organic and sustainable agriculture at the Farm School in Athol, MA.

Natalia St. Lawrence, Board Member

Natalia St.Lawrence is a Geneva, N.Y. resident, with experience as a communications professional. As the Senior Communications Coordinator at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, she creates stories, photography and multimedia content for web and print publications. Natalia also has a background in teaching English Literature at the secondary level. Passionate about food justice and food security, Natalia is a volunteer for Food Justice of Geneva.
