The Jim Schmidt Fellowship was created in honor of the remarkable Jim Schmidt, who served as the longtime Executive Director of Farmworker Legal Services (now Worker Justice Center of New York).

Jim famously said, “All workers are workers.” He was known for nurturing advocates, grassroots people, lawyers and organizers to work for systemic change.

We seek to continue Jim’s work and vision through a partnership with the Working Together Group of western New York. This six-month Fellowship is open to high school students from farmworking families who want to learn about organizing and change. Reach out to Wilmer Jimenez to find out more: wilmer@rmmny.org
