Prayer Vigil for Immigrants and Border Patrol Officers

Join us on Good Friday, April 18, at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Rochester Border Patrol Station, as we gather to pray for ourselves, our government officials, and those who work for Homeland Security. Our prayer is that we will find the empathy, mercy and courage to recognize and affirm the humanity of all immigrants and their families.

There is a fear that our political system is forcing those who work for the government to deny their own humanity as they seek to carry out their jobs of protecting and serving. We gather to reclaim and reconnect the humanity and empathy of all people.

Date: Friday, April 18, 2025

Time: 3:30-4:30 p.m.

Address: 171 Pattonwood Dr., Rochester, NY 14617

What to bring:

• Signs of affirmation of humanity

• Candles

While there are many important protests taking place around our region, this is a gathering with a different approach, one rooted in love and seeking another pathway through stories of humanity, the power of prayer, and silence.

This gathering is sponsored by Rural & Migrant Ministry and the Episcopal Diocese of Rochester. Other sponsors are welcome to promote and join in. All faith backgrounds are welcome to join and bear witness.
