Our Farmworker Celebration & Walk, held Sept. 23 in Rochester and Cornwall-on-Hudson and Sept. 24 in Riverhead, was a rousing good time for all and a smashing success for RMM!
We were blessed to honor a number of remarkable members and allies of RMM at our three centers, all of whom made our celebration extra special! And we cannot forget the hardworking hands that feed our communities, or the incredible generosity of our sponsors, who made the event possible!
We had amazing food in all three locations; we had music and singing; we had rain and we had laughter. We had traditional folk dancing by Xochipilli dance group in Riverhead, an awe-inspiring art show by members of the Orange County Arts Council at our Grail campus, and a phenomenal performance piece by members of JOY at the Rochester Fringe Festival that also included a special appearance by renowned musician John Akers!
