Our Cultivating Justice and Growing Together event, held Oct. 3, 2026, at our Amandla Center in Riverhead, was a resounding success!
We welcomed so many friends, allies, volunteers, Board members, and clergy — including the Rt. Rev. Adam Shoemaker, the new Bishop of Long Island. And, we are proud to say that our program participants from CASA, the Committee for Equitable and Inclusive Education, Mujeres de Esperanza, and VOLIY turned out in full force!
It was a wonderful opportunity for folks to hear from our grassroots leaders about the critically important work they’ve been doing in our community, and to hear their personal stories during this time of political injustice.
We also had a beautiful selection of plants for purchase by the Long Island Farmworker Cooperative, and the food? To die for, prepared by our program participants under the watchful eye of Long Island Regional Coordinator Noemi Sanchez.
