From ESL/Literacy classes, to Know Your Rights workshops, to developing cooperatives and numerous other programs, RMM is assisting people as they develop their understanding and explore opportunities. In turn, because of RMM’s extensive network within the faith, labor and academic communities, we are able to provide resources, support and access. Through the RAP, we also offer extensive programs to allies as they support grass-roots leaders and engage in systemic change.
What’s at Stake: People who are marginalized, including those who might not speak English, face a lack of opportunities as they aspire to live, work and contribute to our communities. As adults excluded from traditional education models, they seek alternative ways to learn, grow and develop skills that ensure their wellbeing.
Why It Matters: With the opportunity to learn comes the ability for individuals to advocate for themselves and their families, to challenge injustice, to put down roots and to thrive. Stronger individuals and families create a stronger society for all of us.
